We are White River!
Welcome to White River High School. White River High School is located at the foot of Mount Rainier in Buckley, Washington and is the home of the Hornets. At WRHS we are committed to ensuring that learning is at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that every student who graduates from White River High School will leave with the skills necessary to be successful regardless of their college or career path. We have a rich and varied curriculum to meet the needs of all of our learners. Our on-time graduation rates and state test scores continue to rise as a result of an intentional focus by staff to utilize best practices related to instruction, assessment, and intervention. Our goal at WRHS is simply to ensure that all students learn at the highest level possible.
The Hornet Way
At White River High School, we believe that students should be recognized for their positive contributions to our school and community. We ask students to reflect The Hornet Way regularly in their daily lives by showing Pride, Appreciation, and Acceptance in everything they do. WRHS staff and students can recognize each other for displaying these attributes by filling out a Hornet Gram. Students will be recognized on a monthly basis for showing The Hornet Way.
Are You in Good Standing?
At White River High School, we believe it is important to have additional time and support built into the school day for our students. If students have at least one "D" or "F" grade, they will be assigned to a Directed STAT group. Students who are in "good standing" have free STAT, but can still get time and support with their teachers. However, they must plan ahead with the teacher. Mid-quarter grades will be pulled for all students on Monday, October 1st. These grades will be used for the first round of athletic eligibility this year as well as to determine who will be assigned to our first STAT cycle. All 9th grade students will be assigned to the first STAT cycle for additional support from October 9th - November 9th. Any 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students with at least one "D" or "F" will also be assigned to a STAT group for the duration of this cycle to ensure they have the support they need to be successful.
When are grades pulled for STAT during 2nd semester?

- STAT Cycle runs 5/6 - 5/24
- NO STAT 5/28 - through the end of the year to EOC Testing
