Athletics

The WIAA recently concluded their reclassification process, which takes place every four years. Through this process, it has been determined that the growing enrollment at White River High School has moved us from 2A to 3A in classification size.

As a result, White River School District is proud to announce that White River High School will be joining the 3A North Puget Sound League, beginning in the Fall of 2024.  Glacier Middle School will continue to compete in the Plateau League. The NPSL schools include:

  • Auburn Mountainview
  • Decatur
  • Enumclaw
  • Federal Way
  • Kentlake
  • Kent-Meridian
  • Thomas Jefferson
  • Todd Beamer
  • White River

White River High School is committed to excellence in athletics while supporting the educational mission of the White River School District. We believe that the NPSL will continue to provide positive opportunities for our student athletes in support of our district’s mission.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we transition into this new league.  We will update you with schedules and other league information as they become available.

Thank you for your continued support.

Go Hornets!

Mission of White River Athletics:

White River High School is committed to excellence in athletics while supporting the educational mission of the White River School District. In keeping with the district’s mission statement, the athletic program provides experiences that will develop skills, self-esteem, and self confidence in each student so that they can reach their greatest potential and develop lifetime skills that will enhance their life now and in the future.

We focus on creating opportunities for all student-athletes to develop skills through individual instruction, peer interaction and competition. Our mission is that all individuals associated with Hornet Athletics (coaches, staff, student-athletes, alumni and parents) will value positive character traits developed through athletic participation. We expect all participants to respect themselves and others, put the team before themselves, display honestly and loyalty, and be gracious in victory and defeat.
